SIGMA LAB

Sequential Information Gathering in Machines and Animals


The SIGMA Lab occupies space in Giltner Hall. It is conveniently located near classrooms, laboratories, and offices associated with the IGERT graduate training program in cognitive science, funded by the National Science Foundation. Giltner Hall is located mid-way between (and a short walk to) the Psychology Research Building, the Natural Sciences Building, and the Engineering Building.

The lab contains an eyetracker, speech synthesis and analysis systems, 3D glasses and software for stereo image presentation, an Aibo robot, an electronic pan-tilt camera head for study of artificial foveated vision and gaze control, pc and mac platforms for behavioral and psychophysical experiments, and pc, mac, and unix workstations for math modeling and simulation.
